Pagaille vocale all’italiana
Donizetti, Celentano…i tutti quanti
© Pauline Blanc / © Greg Lamazères
An immersive, participatory street opera, designed for public spaces and atypical locations (squares, courtyards, theater stages, village halls, etc.)!
The music of Donizetti’s Elixir of love meets the popular and traditional songs of Italy… for an unbridled exploration of the voice. A band of outspoken opera artists and cabaret comedians-singers, accompanied by a virtuoso accordionist, a baroque clarinetist with a klezmer twist and a guitarist-percussionist, transform a village square into a playground for an unprecedented operatic experience. The audience is immersed in the action: the characters confide in them, inviting them to drink and sing along… Shouts and whispers rub shoulders with emphatic vocals, suburban gouaille… and a crooner with a velvet voice! We slide from reality to fiction, from spoken voice to sung voice, from French to Italian, from laughter to emotion…
